Day Trip – Theodore Roosevelt Island

Theodore Roosevelt Island is a living memorial to America’s 26th president.

Tommy and I love taking Violet to Theodore Roosevelt Island. It is the perfect place to take her when we get tired of walking her around our neighborhood and want a change of scenery, for our sake and hers.  Continue reading

D.C. Rock ‘N’ Roll Half Marathon

So I finally did it – I signed up for my first ever half marathon. A few friends and I will be running the 2013 DC Rock ‘N’ Roll Half! Am I terrified? You bet.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy a good run. But 13.1 miles is just so many. I just hope I have the endurance to complete it, that is my one and only goal. Complete the race. I am also not a fast runner by any means.  Continue reading
