Half Marathon Training – thinking ahead & some reservations

Happy 25th birthday to my “little bro” Marshall! I really can’t believe you are 25 now….

I will officially start training for the Rock ‘N’ Roll Half on Monday, December 17th! According to Hal Higdon’s Novice 1 Training Program I should start training three months prior to my race. Technically since the race is on March 16, I should be starting my official training a day earlier, but I didn’t want to start my training on a Sunday. Hopefully the one day won’t matter all that much. Continue reading

Tuesday Tidbits 5

This week’s Tuesday Tidbits is devoted to all the things I am excited to do this holiday season!

1. Our annual holiday party. Ever since we moved to D.C. in 2006 we have always hosted some kind of holiday party in December. This year is no different, though we are trying something new this year.  Instead of hosting it at our place as we always have, we are renting a portion of a restaurant for our party this year. Tap Dogs

Tommy surprised me with two tickets to see Tap Dogs at Strathmore Music Center in North Bethesda on Saturday night. I was excited for two reasons: I had never heard of Tap Dogs before and was looking forward to seeing the show and because I had never been to Strathmore before.
