This past weekend I went to Atlantic City for my friend Lara’s Bachelorette party. It was a great time all around – great group of girls, great food and drinks, and great gambling and dancing times!
I woke up bright and early on Saturday at 6am to knock out my 4 mile run per my half-marathon training plan before I met up with several girls at 9:30am in Bethesda to hit the road to Atlantic City.
We were the first group to arrive in Atlantic City for the bachelorette so we cruised the boardwalk, ate a late-lunch of tapas at the Continental, and walked around our hotel, the Revel. I love this hotel. I had stayed here once before (also the only other time I had been to AC) last year when I came for my birthday. The hotel is huge, modern, and gorgeous. Too bad it filed for bankruptcy earlier this year, but I am hopeful things will turn around since I would like to come back here again.
Once all the other girls arrived, 11 in total, we all got gussied up for dinner and late night merriment and entertainment!
Before we headed to dinner we all met up in one of our hotel rooms where we drank a signature cocktail and toasted Lara and took some pictures. We then proceed to go to Central Michel Richard in our hotel for dinner.
Once dinner was over, we all headed back to the hotel room for more drinks and to receive some bachelorette party items (beads and diamond rings that lit up) before we headed to the casino for some dancing and gambling.
As a side note, I learned how to play Craps (before this I was strictly a Black Jack girl). I had been wanting to learn for a while, but the complexities of the game intimidated me. I still love Black Jack, but Craps is right up there. Another girl in the group taught me how to play step by step. I am by no means an expert, but I understand the general rules of the game. After watching her and another girl play for a while, I finally mustered up the courage to play. I threw down $60 and began making cautious bets. Throughout the night I gradually started becoming more comfortable placing different bets on the table (and was also on a steady stream of winning my bets). At the end of it all not only had I won my $60 back, I had made an extra $200! Talk about beginner’s luck – and great teaching skills by Mimi and Anne. 🙂
It was a wonderful night had by all, especially Lara, which was all that mattered. At 3:30am we were ready to call it a night.
The next morning we woke up, ate a wonderful buffet breakfast at Sky Cafe in the Revel, and then all headed home in our respective carpool rides.
Thanks for a great weekend Lara and Happy Bachelorette!
