Christina and I started our Sunday with brunch at an old standby, Founding Farmers.
While I used to go here for dinner all the time when I was in graduate school at GWU (The George Washington University), I hadn’t been back here for a few years. The last time Christina was in town (two years ago) she raved about brunch here, particularly their Bloody Marys, so I thought it only fitting we eat here during her visit.
While we both liked our brunch selections, Christina and I agreed that our brunch the day before at Farmers Fishers Bakeries was a tad better. After our leisurely brunch, we headed home to collect Tommy before taking Christina to Chesapeake Beach to do some hiking and sightseeing. As you already know, as of recently Tommy and I have enjoyed going to Chesapeake Beach when we have the chance. It all started with this trip!
Christina loved it here. Not only was it a perfect day to be outside enjoying nature, this area of Maryland is just so picturesque. We took some photos along a boardwalk right by the ocean, and hiked and climbed to some cliffs overlooking the water.
After our Chesapeake Beach adventure, we stopped at the grocery store before heading home.
We decided it would be fun to stay in for the night to cook dinner and watch our beloved Cowboys (mine and Christina’s…not Tommy’s). We decided to make Paleo Butternut Squash Lasagna for dinner, accompanied by pumpkin beer – which was amazing. The Cowboys, not so much.
