Mintwood Place

Last Friday night my friend Katie and I wined and dined together at Mintwood Place in Adams Morgan.   Neither of has had been before. I didn’t realize it at the time, but it is very close to Cashion’s Eat Place, where I happened to eat the weekend before. Verdict: we will be going back, immediately.

1) The food is amazing

2) They have happy hour ($5 glasses of wine and champagne, and probably beer – we were just too busy drinking the champagne ;-)) every weeknight from 4-7pm.

3) The restaurant itself is adorable. Simply adorable.

We both got to the restaurant a tad earlier than our reservation so we planted ourselves at the bar. We then promptly decided to stay at the bar to eat dinner to partake in the happy hour prices (happy hour includes food too – just smaller portions and a downsized version of the dinner menu) and the fact that our waiter/bartender kept refilling our champagne glasses at no extra charge.

$5 glasses of champagne can be dangerous!

For dinner we ordered four things to share, along with a glass of red wine each.

Suckling pig croquettes, corn, radish, mole.

Katie and I both were fast asleep by 9:30pm that night if that is any indication of how much we wined and dined. Hey, it was a Friday night right?
