As you may remember, hosting a game night has been a goal of mine for awhile. Well, it finally happened on Saturday night. 🙂
Tommy and I invited three other couples over to our house to play Cards Against Humanity and Taboo, complete with a baked potato bar, wine, beer, water, and soda for dinner. In addition to humans, we also invited doggy friends (Pua and TJ) for Violet to play with.
Putting together a baked potato bar for any occasion is not hard at all. Here is what I chose to include for the bar, (but honestly the sky is the limit):
- Baked potatoes. I followed these instructions on how long to bake the potatoes for, opting for the first method (oven baked and individually wrapped in foil). The potatoes came out perfect!
- Sour cream
- Crab salad
- Sharp cheddar cheese
- Baby carrots
- Steamed brocoli
- Bacon (not pictured)
- Old Bay, butter, salt and pepper
- I also had some Utz Crab chips leftover from our housewarming party so I added those to the menu as well.
- Though not pictured, my friend Tammy brought an amazing Oreo Pudding pie for dessert – which was gobbled up in seconds.
After satisfying our hungry bellies we decided to start game night with Cards Against Humanity…
Followed by Taboo. While I enjoyed playing Cards Against Humanity, the obvious crowd-pleaser (at least to me) was Taboo. We played girls vs. boys and boy did things get competitive! The boys did end up beating the girls, but we’ll challenge for a rematch any day!
Thanks to everyone who came out for our first game night!
Have you ever hosted a game night before?
