Glen’s Garden Market

Happy Thursday night folks!

I just got home not too long ago. I had a much overdue dinner with my friend Katie at Glen’s Garden Market in Dupont Circle. While I had never been (or heard of) Glen’s, it is a favorite of Katie’s and I immediately saw why once I entered the store/bar/restaurant.

Glen’s is a grocery store that sells locally sourced, organic food. Everything from produce, to cheese, to crackers, to bread, to drinks.

It also has several counters/bars where you can order food and drinks and enjoy your purchases (made to order or grocery store purchases) outside on the patio, in the bar area at the front of the store, along picnic tables sprinkled throughout the store, or at the back of the store that sells pizza, sandwiches and various sides to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I arrived at Glen’s a little before Katie so I bought some goat cheese and crackers from the store for us to share.

Once she came, we also decided to split a pizza. We settled on the “Dupont Circle”.

Twelve inch sourdough crust with mozzarella, and choice of tomato sauce, pesto or garlic oil.

In a rare move for both of us we decided not to order alcoholic beverages but iced teas.

Everything we ordered was delicious. It was a great Thursday evening – catching up with a good friend, while munching on delicious food.

Hope you have a great rest of the night!
