Holiday Preview at Lucky Strike

Happy Friday! Sorry I was in MIA the past two days – the days just got away. I was in Boston for a work trip yesterday and boy was the weather gorgeous! I definitely have to plan a fall (fun) trip out there – I’ve been told how beautiful the foliage and weather is then.

On Wednesday night my friend Arlene invited me to attend Lucky Strike‘s (an upscale bowling alley in D.C.) holiday preview night. This is where invite-only guests could come sample some holiday party menu items and cocktails, bowl for a little bit, and talk to the event managers about price packages and availability should you decide to host a party here at some point. It was a lot of fun!

Arlene sampled two of their specialty holiday cocktails, the Grinch and a Pumpkin-Spiced Eggnog concoction.

Guess which one was the Grinch!

There was also a full-fledged buffet dinner that was offered.

Sorry for the darkness – it was bad lighting to work with. I liked how they intertwined holly and lights throughout the buffet set up and had some poinsettias. Very holiday!

And some yummy appetizers readily available on various tables throughout the room.

While we didn’t partake in bowling this time around (we both forgot to bring a pair of socks) it was fun watching other people bowl.

I think it would be a lot of fun to host a party here. I will warn you, some of their packages and price points are on the high side, but the two event managers seem pretty willing to work with folks around creating a fun, affordable package for people. The venue is conveniently located by the Gallery Place/Chinatown metro.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Tommy and I are off to Maine for the weekend. 🙂
