SMU D.C. Alumni Welcome Back/Happy New Year Happy Hour

Happy Friday folks! I hope you all have fun weekend plans ahead of you. I have a pretty full weekend myself, starting with meeting a friend from college that I have not seen in years for dinner tonight. She’s lived in D.C. for a couple of years, but we have just never been able to get our acts together to meet up – until now. πŸ™‚ Definitely looking forward to catching up!

Last night my college D.C. alumni association had its first event of 2015 – a lovely happy hour at Alba Osteria that one of my leadership members, Victoria, led the charge on in terms of finding a venue and coordinating the cost and menu for our event. It was wonderful. It was great to see so many familiar and new faces!

For our event Victoria had negotiated special drink and appetizer prices which were awesome. Somehow we were able to come in under budget for this event, but still managed to feed some 30 people and let them order as many alcoholic beverages as they wanted. πŸ™‚ We also had the privilege of having our happy hour in their private room which was nice to be cordoned off from the rest of the restaurant and bar area.

I can’t wait to start planning more fun SMU D.C. Alumni events with my leadership team this year!

I definitely recommend hosting any kind of event at Alba Osteria if you are looking for a restaurant to do this. They were very easy to work with and worked with us a lot in terms of budget.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.
