Good morning on this rainy and cold Thursday morning in the D.C. area…it’s really hard to believe that tomorrow is (allegedly) supposed to be sunny and 85 degrees with it having been rainy and cold yesterday and today. We shall see!
Last night Tammy, Miki and I decided to move our April 14th Street dinner to early this month (instead of towards the end of the month when we usually meet up for dinner) since we really don’t know when Ava will grace the world with her presence. 🙂
Last night’s choice was Etto: Restaurant, Pizzeria, and Wine Bar – a.k.a. a place to get really good pizza! Tammy and I had both heard great things about Etto’s pizza so we decided to try it out for ourselves.
I was starving when we got to the restaurant so once we placed our orders I asked if we could have some complimentary bread to munch on while we waited for our pizzas. While our waitress complied, she did slightly hesitate before saying she’d bring some right over.
The three of us decided to split two regular sized pizzas.
We ordered the daily pizza special which had Burrata, asparagus, basil and garlic. It was delicious!
Etto is on the small side for a restaurant and doesn’t take reservations. The ambiance is simple, causal and chill. I would recommend coming to dinner on the early side on a weeknight and especially on the weekend. As the three of us were leaving around 6:30-7pm the restaurant was completely full.
I would have no problem coming back for another pizza and maybe a glass of wine or two once Ava is born. 🙂
If you haven’t been to Etto, go!
