During my brief blogging hiatus (aka maternity leave) we quietly celebrated and reflected on Tommy’s 32nd birthday on May 18th. Tommy is never one to make a big deal out of his birthday. I’m always the one asking him what would he like to do, where should we go to dinner, why don’t we invite people over, and asking him if he likes any of the birthday ideas I have pinned on my Pinterest board for this very occasion. This happens every year.
Though this particular birthday was special and unique for two reasons, 1) it was Tommy’s first birthday as a dad and 2) it was the 1-year anniversary of his dad passing away.
We spent the day in similar fashion to what we did last year.
The night before Tommy’s actual birthday mom came over to cook Tommy one of his favorite meals: pork achiote.
My contributions to this dinner are below.
The next day on Tommy’s actual birthday the whole clan headed down to the water to fish and hang out by the bay in the evening.
Happy birthday Tommy. Papa Comeau we miss you every day and know that you are looking down on Ava.
