The Front Porch in Del Ray

Happy Friday!

Hope everyone has some fun weekend plans on tap. Later this evening I’ll be heading (solo!) to Greenwich, CT to celebrate my friend Tiffany’s new baby. My friend Christina and I are throwing her a “Mommy-to-Bee” baby shower tomorrow. Looking forward to some much needed “girl-time” with these two as well. Stay tuned for a recap next week. 🙂

Yesterday evening I organized a very casual belated birthday happy hour get together with some of Tommy’s friends that lived nearby at Evening Star Cafe’s summer pop-up “The Front Porch”.

During the summer months the patio is open daily for Al Fresco drinking and eating beginning at 5pm, weather permitting. Ava and I got there right at 5pm and snagged a great table for our group. IT GETS CROWDED here, so the earlier you can come the better. The weather ended up being perfect for a patio happy hour and coincidentally Del Ray’s “First Thursday’s Paint Del Ray”.

First Thursdays is a series of free kid-friendly and pet-friendly street festivals along Mount Vernon. Each Thursday has a theme. We didn’t get to explore yesterday’s festival, but I would like to on June 7 – the theme is Red, White, and Blue.

Everyone agreed that the Front Porch had a great selection of wine, cocktails, brews, and food.

I had a couple glasses of their French Rose.

Of course we had to start the table off with the Loaded Tots.

The birthday boy and his little Princess.

Around 6:45pm Ava and I left the gang to start the bed time routine and to give Tommy some time to catch up with his friends. When he came home around 8:45pm the verdict was “a very successful and fun night”!

If you’ve never been to the Front Porch at all or this season yet get moving! It’s a great spot and very kid-friendly!

Have a great weekend.
